SEQUENCE

Sequence refers to the order in which a series of actions, events, words, or images occurs or is shown. We usually think of it as a term that refers strictly to time—a sequence of events or actions.

In this image the use of multiple takes of the snowboarder creates a sequence. By using the snowboarder multiples times in a row, the viewer is able to visualize them doing a flip off of a snow ramp.

Many comics use sequencing to tell a story with images. If the pictures were not sequenced in the right order then no story would make sense.
